Animal Photography
Animal Photography is a specialist library based
on the work of Sally Anne Thompson, one of the
great dog and animal photographers of all time.
The library was relaunched in 2007 by
Stephen Taylor from Heat Design.
The library has the largest collection of dog
breeds in the world with two hundred and eighty
major breeds. The collection also includes cats,
horse breeds from around the world, farm
animals, small pets and wild animals
Stephen Taylor, MD of Heat Design discovered
the images when sharing a studio in Marylebone
with the original library owner, Sally Anne’s late
brother, John de Forest Thompson.
‘I was very excited when I discovered the
collection’ says Taylor. ‘The animals are always
top of breed, and the images have a purity and
quality you don’t find elsewhere. As well as
showing the important features of dog and horse
breeds, Sally Anne has the ability to get close to
the essence of the animal. Many of the images
are very suited to design briefs.’

The library holds the work of four other
photographers and is always pleased to consider
other top quality contributors.
